Mt Sopris
Images and location summary by Tim Wier
Trail Difficulty - EASY
I would rate the difficulty of this trail 2 on a scale of 1-5 (with 5 being most difficult). The shot is taken right of the the freeway (CO 82). However, cars are streaming by you pretty quickly, so I can feel a bit dicey. You can pull into the small road off of the freeway, and park just before the rain grade.

Directions to get driving directions to this view of Sunset Over Mt Sopris
From Carbondale: this shot is taken just off of the CO82 freeway just about .9 miles east of the intersection of CO133 and CO82. There is a very small turn into a small residence area. The drive goes into a private residence which has a no trespassing sign. The shot is taken on the freeway side of the rain-drain (not on the private property). Please be respectful of the private drive and the residence.
Photography Tips
This shot is all about the view of Mt Sopris. If the mountain has snow on it and the colors are in peak, this is a good place to shoot in late afternoon to sunset. Mood is everything to make this shot work.
