SAND DUNES, SALT FLATS, THE MILKY WAY AND THE WONDERS OF DEATH VALLEY
Death Valley is a place that must be experienced firsthand to truly appreciate its grandeur. A place of surreal desert landscapes with colorful vistas and towering sand dunes, salt basins, expansive playas, and endless opportunities to photograph small scenes of unique geological features. This workshop is designed to guide participants through the region’s most spectacular and photogenic locations, providing an immersive experience in one of the world’s most remarkable landscapes.
Your Workshop Guides
Death Valley is the largest national park in the contiguous United States, celebrated for its extreme conditions and captivating landscapes. Renowned as the hottest place on Earth, it holds the record for the highest temperature ever recorded at Furnace Creek. It is also the driest location in North America and features the continent’s lowest point at Badwater Basin, sitting 282 feet below sea level.
This photography excursion is designed to capture the essence of Death Valley’s extraordinary terrain. Throughout the workshop, participants will visit iconic landmarks, including Zabriskie Point, Badwater Basin, Devil’s Golf Course, Artist’s Point, and 20-Mule Canyon. Special emphasis is placed on capturing sunset and sunrise at Ibex Dunes and Mesquite Dunes, where pristine sand offers a unique photographic opportunity. Weather permitting, there will be opportunities for astrophotography, where star-studded skies and the Milky Way are revealed in one of the renowned dark-sky destinations.
To ensure a personalized experience, the workshop maintains small group sizes, with three participants assigned to each workshop leader. This allows for individualized coaching to refine your technical skills and enhance your creative vision. Workshop leaders will have Starlink WiFi which provides participants with online access to the internet, email, and messaging.
By the end of the workshop, attendees will have improved their photography skills, created memorable images, and enjoyed a fun and supportive environment.
